Total Duration of Project

 For some reason I have a project that is not showing the total duration of all the activities in the project on the project WBS bar (the one you roll the activities up into).  It is showing a duration much lower than the total and I have no idea where it is coming from.  I want it to show the total from start to finish.  How can I do this?
