RMAN - UPGRADE CATALOG during upgrade to 10.2.0.5.0.

I am planning/preparing to apply patch 10.2.0.5.0 on our Prod Oracle 10g R2 RAC(10.2.0.3.0) on HP-UX. Since some steps are not clear in Patch Readme, I am using this community to get details on some steps. We dont have test instance on RAC.

Our RMAN catalog database runs on Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.3.0) on Windows.
In section 10.7.2.2 Upgrading a Release 10.2 Database,it is mentioned about upgrading the RMAN catalog database by running RMAN> UPGRADE CATALOG;
Our RMAN catalog database is running on 10.2.0.3.0 (Windows). Should it be upgraded first to 10.2.0.5.0 before issuing the RMAN> UPGRADE CATALOG statement. Or can it remain still on 10.2.0.3.0?
