Change assistant best practices

 Hello all,
I have some questions about using Change assistant. On a new installation in order to get fix current you have to download about 1700 ESU's . Quite a lot when you think that many of them have special instructions. So the question is how do you guy's perform the upgrade to get fix current, or you do not perform this upgrade and you only apply base lines, and you the apply ESU's when needed?
