Re-running depreciation

 Is it possible to re-run depreciation for an asset once you have run the period depreciation?  There was an entry coded to Fixed Assets after the initial depreciation was run, the user added the cost to an existing asset and then tried to re-run depreciation for the period once again for the new amount.  Does it make a difference if the NBV of that asset was already set to zero after running depreciation initially?
