AR Period closed even when unposted Cash items exists

Hi

We have one operating unit setup with both Accrual and Cash accounting, and AR team was able to close a period even though there are unposted cash items in that period(all accrual items were posted). We want to know why the system didn't stop closing of the period, do we need to do any additional setup ?
