Verify upgrade gl from v11 to v12

 We are in the process of a GL e-business upgrade to ver 12. I need to verify data from old to new database. Oracle recommends using standard reports. Since those reports create thousands of lines, it's hard to verify balances visually. Does anyone have an electronic solution to verify databases that would involve possibly using sql? Does anyone have programs they may have used to do this? Does anyone have any method other than visually checking thousands of lines of reports?  I'm just trying to find a better way to do this. Thanks for any help or guidance you can offer.
