Number of periods available in the AP subledger in R12

I was reading in the Oracle Financial Concepts Guide Release 12 for Calendars.  It stated that the GL often needs to include one to two adjusting periods at year end.  It then went on to say that the subledgers depend on the GL calendar.  Our current GL calander contains 14 periods.  13 for the FY and 1 for the adjustments.  So my question is:  will the AP subledger in R12 now contain 14 periods?
