What happens if CKPT killed accidentally

Hi,

The list of oracle background processes is SMON, PMON, DBWR and LGWR. Eventhough CKPT is not a mandatory background process, it is very important as it is responsible for generating the Check point. If this process is killed accidentally, what happens to the database and which other process will take this responsibility temporarily.

The above list of mandatory background processes is from Metalink document 48681.1.
