filesystemio_options, What is it really?

I am running 11.1.06 on AIX jfs2 filesystems.  I would like to skip async i/o overhead.  To do this I believe I should should set filesystemio_options= setall.

Before Oracle Database 11g, Direct Input-Output and Concurrent Input-Output could

not be enabled at the file level on JFS/JFS2. Therefore, the Oracle home directory and

data files had to be placed in separate file systems for optimal performance. The
