CM13 - cannot email from CM, appears to be a SMTP authentication issue

 Hi

I am having difficulty getting the email function (sending email from CM13) working.

Using windows server 2008,  SMTP is running, as I see it with authentication not required, and I have setup the admin SMTPserver as smtp.mail.com

When trying to send email from CM I receive the error message   "530 5.7.1 Authentication required " .  does anyone have any ideas?
