Consolidation times

Hi, this maybe a silly question but we've found that consolidations appear to be taking longer on structures with fewer sub-consolidation points. Is it quicker to consolidate one entity group with a hundred base entities below and no sub-consolidation points or a group with a hundred base entities that are held in various sub-groups? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
