Grid Control 10.2.0.5 can reorganize partitioned indexes, but not indexes , why ?

Using  the reorganization feature of Grid Control to generate Scripts with which used periodically to  rebuild  partitioned index table spacescaused corruptions in index , It's needed to generate scripts to reorganize tablespaces that contain full indexes, not index partitions. Grid Control aborts during script generation, saying object_type index is not supported for reorganize. Why is it possible to reorganize the more complex index_partitions but not the simpler indexes?
