deletion of archivelog

 Hi All,

I wanted to know whether     UniX]rman target /
                                           delete archivelog all backed up 1 times to sbt; is safe practice or not?

Suppose u have joined a new organisation and do not know anything about backup policy in detail and u r getting alert db_recovery_dest is full and u can not change the location in this case what are the options left with us?

In my case I did :UniX]rman target /
                                           delete archivelog all backed up 1 times to sbt;

it deleted some archives from flash_recovery_area and thus i was able to free some space.
