Sales Order line status is 'Awaiting Shipping' but additional information shows as 'Backordered'

 Hi,

I have one issue as per below details.

Sales Order line status is in 'Awaiting Shipping' But when we check in the additional SO line information which indicates that the line is 'Backordered' . Need to know why the pick list has been backoredered even after there is on hand quantity available.

Please advice.
