What are the factors that affect the performance of Agile?

What are the main factors that will affect the performance of Agile?
How much will the Hardware or network play role into performance issues?


We are currently have a database size of 4GB and approximately 550+ active users in Agile.
We have one database server but it is not dedicated to Agile. We have two Application servers that are clustered. The performance is not so good. We are having a lot of issues also when multiple users try to generate reports at the same time.

Please let me know some tips how we can make Agile perform better.
