Utility To Check Req Approval Authority Based On Approval Groups

 We are using 11.5.10.2 with AME for requisition approvals. We'd like to base approval authority on approval groups assigned to the job. Is there a standard package procedure or utility we can use to decide whether an approver has enough authority to approve a requisition? Ideally we would pass a req_header_id and employee_id and the procedure would pass back a 'Yes/No' as to whether the employee can approve, based on distribution account codes, doc total, categories etc.
