Upgrading Siebel 7.8 SEA - Same Hardware

Reading through the documentation - I've noticed most of the documentation is assuming Siebel 8.1.x installation onto NEW equipment. How is a Siebel 8.1.x SEA "upgrade" - 8.1 Siebel software install - performed if the upgrade is going onto the same server where the 7.8.x SEA is already installed. Our first try at upgrade will be a “single server installation” upgrade - my assumption would be the following ... very high level.

Install 8.1 Software into new instance

Patch to 8.1.1.4

Install Oracle 11g Client (we are on 10g)

Perform Pre-tasks

Perform DB Upgrade

Merge

Perform Post Tasks

Uninstall 7.8 instance (Maybe? - just to clean up?)
