Common Paymaster - different tax ids

 Have employees working in different companies, with different corp tax ids.  Can these companies be part of a Common Paymaster group, so that the employee only pays FICA tax to the combined wages limit?

If so, does this affect year end processing/ W2s? 

Oracle documentation says it cn be done.   Oracle support product specialist says it can't.  Who do you believe?
