Experience utilizing more than 2 diskgroups in ASM?

Hello,

Windows 2003 R2 (x64), Oracle 10.2.0.3, RAC utilizing ASM, database is ~3Tb total size.

I've read the “Oracle Database 11g Release 1 and 10g Release 2” Whitepaper on ASM usage, and understand Oracle does not suggest/recommend using more than 2 diskgroups (1 for DATA and 1 for FLASH).  Has anyone in the 'community' experience utilizing more than 2 diskgroups?  Positive or negative information is welcomed and appreciated.
