datafiles on nfs mount

 I am trying to create a database with several of its datafiles on an nfs mount.  This was created from a hot backup of an exising database. 

When I try to recover the database, I get an error:

ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
ORA-01110: data file 1: '/adamprd/oracle/data2/dtest/system01.dbf'
ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 1 - see DBWR trace file
ORA-01110: data file 1: '/adamprd/oracle/data2/dtest/system01.dbf'

The trace file shows that the following error happens on all the nfs mounted files.

ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 1 - see DBWR trace file
