OAB - cancelling an action item for a certificate on life ins

OAB - how do you cancel an action item for a certificate required on life insurance coverage?  Employee gets guaranteed life coverage of $100000.  They elected $300000 more but this coverage is not approved by the carrier and the certificate request can be cancelled.
