Huge difference in reporting disk usage via du and zfs list. Fragmentation?

Do we have enormous fragmentation here on our X4500 with Solaris 10, ZFS Version 10?

One ZFS was used over a time period of some month to store large VMware disk images (vmdk files, each 50GByte 
large) which are copied there via rsync. Old rsynced files are deleted. This ZFS then reports 10.6 TByte usage with zfs list and only around 2 TByte usage with du and recursive summary of ls -l.

The other ZFS was used for similar sized disk images, this time as NFS share to receive similar large files via cp. On this ZFS du and zfs report  the same usage of
