Changing Auto Accounting Receivables R11.5.10

Does anybody knows if it possible to change a segment value in the Auto Accounting of Receivables (R11.5.10)  Type 'Receivable' after having Invoices accounted?

I can change it in the setup, but I don't know what will be the effect on the accounting. Does the new receivable account in the setup only affect on the new Invoices?
