Period End Accruals - Expense Items

 The general practice is to configure purchasing for expense items is to accrue at period end.  The period end accruals program generally run at the end of the month to generate accrual entries.

In view of the volume of transactions, can we run the period end accruals at regular intervals.  Oracle EBS period end close process document mentions that the period end accruals program can run as many times as possible.  If we want to run once a week, what are its implications.

We do not want to accrue on receipt for expense items.
