Automatic Gather Stats job fails

In Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) database, It has been observed that system generated “gather stats” job failed almost every Saturday/Sunday since the time it was upgraded from 10g. The typical info from head and tail of these trace files are: *** SERVICE NAME:(SYS$USERS) 2011-02-20 19:28:34.807

*** MODULE NAME:(DBMS_SCHEDULER) 2011-02-20 19:28:34.807

*** ACTION NAME:(ORA$AT_OS_OPT_SY_7161) 2011-02-20 19:28:34.807

 

GATHER_STATS_JOB: Stopped by Scheduler.

Consider increasing the maintenance window duration if this happens frequently.

The following objects/segments were not analyzed due to timeout:
