Hi,
One of our customer has Oracle 10g R2 (Single Instance) installed on their Sun OS server and runs a Production Database.

They want to add another Sun OS Server and build Oracle 10g R2 RAC with minimum downtime without removing the exiting Single Instance Oracle 10g s/w.

Is it safe to install and configure Oracle 10g R2 RAC (Clusterware,ASM and Database s/w) while a Production database runs on the same server from a different Oracle Home?
Customer is willing to give downtime only during migrating the Production database from File System to ASM and then to RAC enviroment.

Howdy, Stranger!
