Configured phantoms

 A configured phantom item from the configured string is being used in a Smart part.  The component is NOT extended by the quantity from the string that relates to the phantom part.  The component shows up on the parts list, but with a qty of 1.  What am I missing?  World A8.1 cum 6.   Parent phantom W4178 unit of measure = YD.  Component L4178 unit of measure = SF.
