How to show Units Per Time in a Activity Details column

 I want to show Units Per time in a Activity Details column but can't find a solution.  I tried the example given in the Knowledge site (ID 910035.1) but this didn't work for me.  Is there another solution or maybe someone has an explanation why this might not be working for me?
