Question related to updating Boolean Field

I am trying to update a Checkbox (Boolean) field using Web Services (.Net), I am not able to pass the value of "Y or N" to the field as required since those values are not valid Boolean values in .Net. Hoping to get an answer from someone who has encountred a similar issue. Thank you in advance for any help regarding this issue.
