Budgeting for inventory items

I would like to ask a query related to the general ledger, budgeting section; following is my query

1.       My company requires creating the budget of each item present in the inventory, without opening an account code for the same.

 Reason:

We are a manufacturing firm and need to prepare budget for each inventory item; but opening an account code for each inventory item (in the Primary Chart of Accounts) is not feasible, for our management.

Budgeting Scenario:

We have a primary chart of accounts having total of 8 segments. In the natural account segment we have one account for the ‘general inventory’. In the inventory we have multiple items against the account code ‘general inventory’ (e.g. Pen, Pencil, Notepads, A4 Printing papers etc.). Now when we are preparing the budget; we need to prepare the budget for the individual items of the inventory (e.g. $4500 for Pen, $5000 for Pencil, $6000 for Notepads, $5000 for A4 Printing papers etc.).

Howdy, Stranger!
