GL Control Accounts

We were in the earlier versions of Rel12.  Oracle has introduce the control account concept.  For the natural account the valid values are Yes, No, Customer and Supplier. 

If we set to Yes, it prevents manual entries from being created in GL.  In later release I presume 12.1.4 Oracle introduced one more option Restrict Manual Entries. 

To me setting Yes or Restrict Manual Entries looks like it has the same impact.  Could members of the community provide their  insights into

1. differencens if any between these two options

2. the implications if any if we choose one vs the other (Yes vs. Restrict Manual Entries)
