OVMS: New Oracle Software for OpenVMS? Ever?

With the announcement yesterday that Oracle will discontinue all development for Itanium processors, it seems that Oracle's commitment to OpenVMS is in serious doubt.  Last October, Oracle was still promising to release 11gR2 for OpenVMS in the 1st half of 2011.  Now that Oracle has dicontinued development for every CPU that OpenVMS runs on, it seems like their commitment to the OS is likely at an end.
