System automatically split order lines and Order status remains Not Shipped.

Hi,

Order was entered with a request ship date of April 29th.

There were 2 line items on this order for a qty of 150 each, to ship complete.

There was a qty of 7 of one of the items and the system split the line and shipped 7 of the 150, and the order was scheduled not to ship unitl April 29, 2011...WHY?
