How we can achieve the best SGA and impact of big SGA
We are using Oracle 10g Release 64 bit on Linux Red Hat 5 64 bit operating system. The present SGA of the database is 64 GB and we are thinking to increase it to 96 GB as we are adding more physical memory to the system. The server has only one database.
Now the question, if we increase the size of SGA is there any negative impact on the database performance?
To increase the memory what are things to be analyzed? or Are there any other areas to be considered to perform this?
I would really appreciate if I could get a quick response as we are running short of time to take a decision.
