Rac Db migration and consolidation
We are planning on moving our 4 node rac database to new servers. Some info first:
currently 4 node Rac on linux using shared storage and not asm.
new storage system will mirror of the current shared storage volumes and give room for growth, 2 linux nodes with more cores.
So my question is the best way to do this. We're going from 10gR2 to 10gR2. We are not planning on changing db structure.
Tell me if this is possible:
1) install the new 2 node cluster and get it running.
2) install the 10gR2 database software on the new cluster.
3) mount up the db volumes from the previous rac db on the mirror storage laid out like it was previously
