Currencies and conversion in Projects

 Hi All,

Do any of you know of any white paper dealing with currencies and currency conversion in Projects. 
I would like to know if there is any white paper out there explaining the different types of currencies (functional, project, transaction, invoice etc) that can give a better understanding of the different terms with scenarios/examples and how to get the desired results.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
