Database Health Checks

 

Hello everyone,

I’m new to the role of DBA and the DBA role is just one hat that I wear.  Primarily I wear the developer hat.  I have taken both of oracle Admin I and II DB courses and I’m slowing getting more time allocated to the DBA role and learning.   The first task in my learning is database health. 

My question – What queries, checks should a person run to determine there are no issues.  I realize that there probably are various levels of checks, etc.  but what would the initial check or queries that should normally be performed?
