One strategy for dealing with statistics

Hi All,
This quesion is about the design not specific to any issue.

In my DW system, It costs a so long time to collect statistics (for only stale tables with a reasonable sample).

For reducing the cost, do you think whether it's OK to collect them after a typical load running and lock the statistics for all tables after that?
The tables I talked are mainly fact tables, both partitioned and non-partitioned.

There is a kind of fact tables in my system, which are truncated and re-inserted fully in daily batch.

With my experience, I don't think there is any big difference of data volumn, data distribution and so on between this run and last.

Howdy, Stranger!
