Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. Can not connect to database from UNIX but fine from Windows

Hi -

we can not connect to a new database from UNIX using sqlplus but perfectly can from Windows (through TOAD)

Message: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

Are there any limitations for the database name - it is in a format: XXXXXXXXXX(dot)XX(dot)XX
