For the two disabled optimizations below, I really don't know the history. I believe they would be enabled by default.

In our clustered and SAN environment, could there be any application reason why these would get in the way of each other or cause issues (hopefully not corruption)?

From what I've seen, all three should be enabled at once.

I plan to turn them on in our Training database to see how it does over time. There I've had a great deal of performance gain just from increasing buffers.


     - Asynchronous pre-fetch is disabled
          Maximum pre-fetch depth is 5 buffers
      - Detected asynchronous pre-fetch is enabled
