Why Install Base / Oracle Asset Tracking

 Hello Experts,

We are in the process of doing a reqt study for one of our customers for R12 implementation. Business has a reqt to track transfer of fixed assets/inventory items from one project to another, one location to another etc.

They also want to be able to track the current location etc for all fixed assets/inventory items.

I want to understand in which situation should we ideally be using IB/OAT modules ? I have seen very few customers use these 2 modules, so curious to know what is that these 2 modules offer which fixed assets/eAM/inventory modules don't ?
