Oracle 10g: Ora:12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified.

 Dear friends, We are using Oracle 10g database R2. What we have done we have activated our non-cluster standby database created for our 2 node RAC database. All the things completed successfully. we have activated the database, bring it on single thread and also delete the standby redo log files. The database is responding fine but whenever a user log on to database it gives the following message in alert_log file:

 

Ora:12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified.

 

In our RAC enviromnet we have instance_names for the following nodes:

 

Node1: prod1

Node2: prod2

dbname: prod

 

While in our standby database we have following names:

Howdy, Stranger!
