Gathering statistics on global temporary tables

Hi,

Recently I've used global temporary tables  that come very handy for DIY parallelism. Since they have indexes, I was just wondering about statistics. Is it worth gathering statistics on global temporary tables, as their data is by definition volatile? So far it looks like Oracle is able to deal quite well with the ones I created, so I was just thinking about the need for that. The Oracel manuals I've brushed don't seem to discuss that (or have I missed the page?).

What do you think?

Thanks
