Picking Rules

 When a new instance is cloned from a ''Gold" instance in which Picking Rules have been enabled and assigned, can the 'Generate All Rules" just be submitted or do all of the org assignments and enabled boxes need to be unchecked prior to generating the rules?  We have encountered issues when creating new instances and the picking rules not working and have had to go back through the process from scratch
