ERP 8.0 to ERP 9.0 Data Migration Approach

  Gurus of the JDE OneWorld,

I've been looking for a conversion approach document that fits our situation, and have had no luck. However, I've got to believe that something exists as our situation is not unusual.

We are moving our data from a legacy ERP 8.0 implementation running on AIX/UDB to a new installation of ERP 9.0 running on Linux/Oracle. Both instances are up and running side-by-side. As the ERP 9.0 instance is already running with Unicode, I assume that no Unicode table conversions will be necessary. However, we do have to copy and convert (TC) the data to ERP 9.0. Our original approach was to setup data sources in ERP 9.0 to point back to the ERP 8.0 system and then run the "Table Conversion Workbench" for the standard tables, then the post conversion TCs manually. We would write any custom TCs that will be required for converting data to the ERP 9.0 table format if needed. Any remaining data that did not require a TC, we would use the R98403 to move the data to the new system.

Howdy, Stranger!
