Removing Cancelled Line from PO document

Is it possible to remove the Cancelled Lines from PO document when the document is opened from Purchase Order Summary screen.
What is the best practice to achieve this.
Action taken so far:
What we have noticed is that the cancelled lines are part of the PO document. We tried to tweak the .xsl file, but it works in few cases and fails for others. For instance if I create a Release from PO these cancelled lines do not appear on the PO document. But if we do it using AutoCreate Blanket Release after creating a requisition, then all the lines in PO do not appear.
