Task status in R12 changing automatically once the resource is assigned to the task

 Hello,
In 11i when you create a task and save it depending on the profile option the task status is changed and once the assignee/resource is assigned to the task the assignment status changes automatically depending on the Task Manager:Default Assignee Status but the task status is manually changed

In R12 when the assignee/resource is assigned to a task the assignment status changes automatically depending on the Task Manager:Default Assignee Status but the task status is also automatically changing without manual intervention..

There are some scenarios where we do not want the task status to be automatically populated when the resource is assigned to a task..Can you please why this change has been made in R12 and if there is a way I can control this by not having the task status change automatically once the Assignee/Resource is assigned
