Can I install SUNWj6rt and other java6 packages from a Solaris 10u9 DVD on a Solaris 10u6 machine?

 I am interested in having java 6 installed as a package so that I can have it patched as part of the normal patch cycle (i.e 10_Recommended.zip).  Java 6 is only available from java.com in an installer script for Solaris 10 sparc; it seems to "be that way" for many years.  It is not clear why it is not available using standard solaris packaging utilities.
