Rapid fire svcadm restart

We had an error on one of our servers:

 something along the lines of graph.c RESTARTED_DEGRADED .....

anyway I found this link on oracle support to a bug:

the fix they suggest is not really ideal for a production environment? Has anyone seen this before and know any solutions, besides a less happy trigger finger!
