Process Planning - APS New batch

Hi

Would like to know the functionality of APS New batch and the Master Batch fields in the OPM Process planning,.

I would like to group the planner order converted to batches into single batch, will this functionality help in achieving the same.

As we have multiple FG planned to create supply. planning have multiple planned orders created on FG specific.  Requirement is to have single execution batch. this is combining all the FG batches to single batch which should contain the planned qty of all the FG and it should also have planned resources of all the FG batches. Can this be acheivable.
